MSN Spaces Updated

June 28, 2005 1 comment
MSN Spaces has been updated with new features

  • there is now the <HTML> button anyone who had created an Edit it button this assumed to be MSN’s Solution allowing people to do more things to there blogs that require HTML.
  • There is now more ability to choose the font and size of text more successfully it was more restricted then before.
  • New: Font Size instead of Normal there is other sizes from Extra Small to Largest
  • Font Style – amongst Arial – one of my most like fonts. there is the handwriting font. i can see myself really enjoying that
  • Indents – change indents of text
  • Numbering – Numbering lists. these can change bullet points to numbers 1-x and vica versa easily
  • Bullet Points  – listing things and easily to change to numbering and back if text highlighted
  • Copy, Cut and Paste able to do these highlight the text and press the button highlight text to copy or cut then click paste in new location
  • Background Colour behind text
  • Text Colour: Same amount of colours for Text
  • Insert Search Links – works with IE (Internet Explorer), allow a Blog person to have links that people want to know more about e.g. Hotmail – it would recall from MSN Search searchs for Hotmail
  • Insert Hyperlinks to websites like Yahoo, Google and MYSpace.com – I can not be seen to favoritism.  Whats more there is the ability to do mms:// Mailto: ftp:// and other protocols likes feed:// (used for RSS and RSS2) and IM protocols like aim and Skype.
  • Block Search Engine Indexing  of links- whats more there is the option to block Search engines like Google and MSN Search from Indexing it. something useful i feel if you do decide to place your email in a blog or something similar  maybe some downloads or pictures elsewhere

Dispite the improvements here is where i get what still needed. MSN Spaces needs more emoticons. also it needs a feature similar to Live Journal and MySpace.com which have currently playing feature and Current Mood 2 good additions. However Myspace.com and Live Journal does not have some of the above features however.

Also MSN Spaces whould be good if it could insert Pictures more easily either from the photo album or external source e.g. imageshack.us!

A guestbook feature would be a good addition although its come commonplace to be blogs these days.

I also think comments to allow emoticons and features similar to the blog would be good. choosing text colour of a comment by the person commenting say etc.

People looking for places to find out about HTML can do a search for HTML Help you may ask me for help if needed though

I not seen people let use blogthings.com and the features from thats available to other Blog Sites (Myspace.com Live Journal) with polls quizs puzzles, games, music and video etc. maybe music and video works without img dynsrc and shows the ability to stop play etc controls. in a few days if i can i give a list of sites that could be considered although they may not 100% totally work with the MSN Spaces Services and would not be an as will work list

BB6 UK: Eviction and New Housemates

June 25, 2005 Leave a comment

Roberto was evicted  (his departing whould not be missed that much). asshame  it was not Derek he must be happy with himself  hopes he going next week . voting was rather close. we do have 3 new housemates to be entertained with

*runs back to Freeview to watch from 9pm*

New Housemates Orlaith 26 and from Belfast. she was 2nd in the Miss Northern Ireland  in 1999 and is currently ‘Belfast’s Model Of The Year’. She loves exercising and is a keen boxer but hates spiders and self-obsessed people . Orlaith claims her idol is Marilyn Monroe.

Eugene is 27 from Crawley. he likes electronics but has a phobia of water tanks *gives him water tanks for xmas ). He would love to meet Terry Wogan and is a member of a radio club. In his spare time, Eugene enjoys throwing TVs off cliffs to record the sound they make  (poor TV’s ). He is a virgin and an Atheist and is currently learning to fly.

Kinga is 20 from London and loves making people laugh but also admits to being a "two faced bitch." Half Polish, half Kuwaiti, she once worked in a bar… and fell flat on her face while serving. She is afraid of rats and snakes, believes in ghosts and has met Jennifer Lopez.

i like to probe  lol. only be visting Channel 4 and DS:BB though they probe more

Big Brother 6 UK Evict a loser (And MAY Gain a Housemate or have a surprise)

Today is June 24th – its a Friday and a week since Sam left. still had my dose of sam from repeats and BBLB (and its reruns )today i glad that 1 housemate that does not derserve to be there is going . they surprise (can it be all them evicted and 10 new housemates ) there is rumors there could be a housemate swap one of them evicted (Derek or Roberto [ they going ]) and either a former housemate or a new housemate enters (rumored to be female) also there is rumors is there a bedsit.

currently the odds of Derek to go is almost a certain but Derek has shown he wants to walk (maybe to get voted  or to stay longer ) if he leaves by walking he is a coward.

Everyone knows i hate Craig – lelsey partnership sly etc, Derek sly evil (also his past amongst loads more), Vanessa (boring) in particular (add roberto to that (surviving Sam eviction) and Maxwell – not nice

maybe the 14 housemate (should 1 arrise be my favorite ) they better then the current lot

Big Brother Exclusive… i was right

June 24, 2005 2 comments

I was Correct that i could see housemates coming and was hoping for serveral shame it not 10 though to replace them all (but 3 is ok). highly likely most will be female to curve the female decline as they facing 3 weeks approx to an all male house

Channel 4 BB website announce statement   New Housemates
Day 29, 11:00

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better – three new Housemates will enter the Big Bother House tonight.

Yes, you heard right! The new Housemates are waiting in the wings to begin Big Brother life, and the current Housemates have no idea…

The identities of the new Housemates are still shrouded in mystery, and their names will only be revealed live on Channel 4 with Davina.

The introduction of some new faces to the House could be explosive. Lines have already been drawn, sides set and a routine settled in to. How on earth will the Housemates react to new blood in their ranks?

A new Housemate could come between Saskia and Maxwell, have a sweet tooth to rival Vanessa’s or know the words to more Britney songs than Craig, and he wouldn’t like that, at all.

Make sure you watch the live show tonight to meet the new guys or gals for the first time and see the looks on the Housemates faces when they enter the House. It’s going to be electrifying!

Bring on the new breed!

Weather Advisory

June 24, 2005 Leave a comment

It been raining since about 5am this morning and there is a risk of flash flooding anytime keeping a eye out. outside is rather dark all the lights around here inside is on its rather dark and gloomy and overcast .

Its been repeatively thunder and Lighting all morning so far (MSN Space give us the MSN Messenger 7 emoticons – there loads more like rain cloud and thunder bolt etc).

Weather according to BBCi will not get much better all day with Rain. Wimberdon and Glastonbury going to be washed out. both would still go ahead Glastonbury it be very muddy and Wimberdon loads of rain breaks *prays for the closing roof to be built* then i can watch tennis (mainly female tennis though as i prefer it more) and the heatwave have gone and will be rather cold tomorrow .

UGSU Sabbatical Officers – Steph

June 24, 2005 Leave a comment

With today friday the last day of the sabbatical officer year for 2004/5. the farce of the 2005/6 officers continue

this time its Sports Officer

Sabbatical Elections: Sports Officer Information
As you may have heard and has been posted on the forums, Jamie Sampson has removed himself from the Election and thus, the role of Sports Officer.

It was deemed that Jamie did not resign from the role of Sports Officer but instead removed himself from the election process. The reason for this is simply that he could not resign from a post which he had not yet taken up (The new Sabbs officially start on the 27th June).

As a result it meant that we have been able to offer the post to the candidate who came second in the elections, Steph Carlyon. We have been able to do this without the need for a new election or the need for an EGM as a result of the reasons pointed out above. It is worth pointing out that this decision was unanimously agreed by the current and next year’s Executive Committee at a meeting held on the 16th June.

If you have any queries regarding this, please direct them to communications@glos.ac.uk

Source [UGSU]

note: i not Jamie Sampson  and i did vote for Steph  and both votes for her the original and re-election 1 (of 2)
Go Steph  Well done!!
Also Steph  is a friend of mine on UGSU Space Magazine and a Big Step Colleugue .
